Our common goal

Common-1

The pharmaceutical industry, researchers and healthcare professionals share a common goal: to develop and make best use of treatments that improve people’s lives by preventing and curing disease.

We want to celebrate the collaboration that’s already ongoing to make this happen - and raise awareness of what more needs to be done to tackle poor health outcomes and unmet heath needs.

Our industry is a core part of the health and research ecosystem in every country in the world.
Here in the UK, pharmaceutical companies partner with universities and the NHS on clinical trials and research projects to accelerate the development of new treatments and ensure they meet the needs of patients.

We work with policymakers and clinicians to ensure that medicines are available equally to patients across the UK, providing timely access to the latest therapies.

We support public education campaigns, collaborating on health programs and initiatives that focus on disease prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment to improve patient outcomes.

And we support NHS staff with training programs and educational resources to ensure they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical care

But despite all this, as you’ve seen, there’s more to do. Follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram as we keep working to make the UK the home of innovative medicines and vaccines.
